Description This front-line position is responsible for unit morale, internal/external customer (resident/family) satisfaction, and quality of care. The AL Director is responsible for activities including: supervision of personnel, quality of resident care, and compliance of Federal, State, and local regulations in accordance with industry standards. 1. Administrative Duties: · Responsible for the general morale of all staff. Provides a quality work environment through teaming principles, effective team leadership, and a positive attitude. · Participates in the hiring process, discipline, development, and evaluation of personnel. Takes into consideration recommendations from the Charge Nurse. · Proactive in the development, maintenance, and updating of policies and procedures governing day-to-day nursing functions and Departmental services. · Responsible for the supervision of nursing personnel. Accountable for department productivity and the timely completion of delegated work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. · Develops and maintains a positive working rapport with inter-departmental and cross-functional personnel. Promotes the campus mission and philosophy. · Promotes excellent communications by conducting meetings with staff on a routine basis. Responsible for enhanced communications and services through the identification and correction of deficiencies via continuous improvement techniques. Serves as a mentor to AL nursing staff. · Ensures nursing personnel comply with established departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the training of personnel in fire safety, disaster preparedness, and procedures for reporting hazardous conditions. 2. Nursing Duties · Performs responsibilities by effective team leadership, delegation of duties, and primary nursing duties as required. · Responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, documentation, etc., as necessary. · Proactive in the development, maintenance and implementation of quality assurance programs. · Assess residents prior to admission for appropriateness of AL/MSU setting. · Maintains communications with the Administrator/DON of Healthcare providing status updates on resident care, personnel issues, and other related matters through written/oral reports. · Remains current by attendance of applicable seminars and professional publications. · Performs Infection Prevention duties by keeping certification in good standing, oversight of Infection Prevention tracking and monitoring regulatory compliance updates. Performs other duties as requested or required. Requirements Education - Graduate of accredited LPN/RN School of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred Licensure/Certification - Current LPN/RN license in the State of Ohio, Infection Preventionist Certification, and PAC training required, CEAL Certification preferred Specialized Knowledge/Skills - Knowledge of State and Federal Regulations regarding RCF's, Knowledge of Medicare and Managed Care, Excellent written and oral communication skills, Strong managerial skills Experience - Experience in Clinical Nursing and 2 years experience in RCF or LTC required
