Position Title: Cardiac Surgeon / Chief of Cardiac Surgery

POSITION SUMMARY:

UConn Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Cardiac Surgeon to join our team and serve as Chief of Cardiac Surgery within the Department of Surgery and the Calhoun Cardiology Center. This full-time faculty position also includes a role in our Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship program and an academic appointment at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• MD or equivalent degree.
• Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Board certified or board eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine, clinical excellence, and education.

• Provide clinical care in Cardiac Surgery.
• Serve as Chief of Cardiac Surgery overseeing clinical quality, safety, operations, and programmatic growth.
• Contribute to the Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship Program through teaching, mentoring, and educational development.
• Engage in collaborative, multidisciplinary care across UConn Health and its affiliated hospitals.
• Participate in research, academic service, and medical education.
