Description

Are you a fiscal professional with a passion for wildlife conservation? Consider joining the Fiscal Services team as we support the programs carrying out the mission of the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Under the direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) in the Fiscal Systems Section, the incumbent develops, maintains, and controls Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) coding structures, tables, and various databases; performs system analysis on accounting systems; writes and maintains procedures for the Fiscal Systems Section; completes independent projects as assigned and provides resolution and written issue papers; and provides technical support. Additional duties of this position include maintaining fiscal records, entering high volumes of transactions, and perform system testing as applicable.
The position is headquartered in the Natural Resources Building located in downtown Sacramento. The office is right next to Light Rail for an easy commute and features ergonomic furniture, panoramic downtown views, a free employee gym, a cafeteria and bodega, and adjacent childcare.
In order to be eligible for this position, you must either be transfer eligible or take and pass the following exam.

Working Conditions
Ability to use a computer keyboard for several hours a day. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods. Work with staff statewide to complete work assignments. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings via private or public transportation. Overtime may be required and limited time-off during the year-end. This position offers the possibility of an office-centered telework agreement based on the Department’s current Telework Policy.
