Under the direction of an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Associate Accounting Analyst independently performs highly complex detailed project cost analysis and highly complex financial reporting of State administered Right of Way, Construction, and Subvention projects funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in order to ensure the integrity of information in Advantage accounting system and to maximize federal reimbursement. The incumbent is responsible for initiating the final cost accounting transactions for Construction, Right of Way and Subvention funded projects to ensure expenditures are properly recorded against authorized funding sources. Ensures the safeguard of assets, and compliance with fiscal and accounting policies. The incumbent is responsible for establishing financial obligations of the various federal, state, and local contributions to the state’s multi-funded construction program, and validating the accuracy of payments and claims due to construction contractors.
