This executive-level role plays a key part in strategic planning, performance improvement, and departmental leadership. The Associate Administrator ensures high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance by collaborating with department leaders, medical staff, and support teams. Essential Functions Provides executive oversight for assigned departments including Laboratory, Radiology, Rehab, Respiratory, and Physician Practice Services Develops departmental goals, objectives, and performance standards; assigns accountability and delegates authority to managers and supervisors Participates in strategic planning, budgeting, and development of operational policies Leads performance improvement initiatives across departments, ensuring high-quality patient care and service delivery Maintains open communication with medical staff, administrative colleagues, and department teams Evaluates department leadership and staff performance; supports ongoing education and competency development Assists in the development and oversight of operating and capital budgets for departments Interprets hospital policies for managers and ensures departmental compliance with standards Oversees regulatory readiness, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and other applicable standards Participates in the hospital's administrative on-call rotation Represents the hospital in internal and external meetings and community engagements Supports employee engagement and contributes to a positive organizational culture Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills Demonstrated ability to manage complex healthcare operations and multidisciplinary teams Proficient in healthcare information systems and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Knowledge of hospital regulations, accreditation, and performance improvement practices Proven ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and implement change Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations Upholds the mission, vision, and values of the organization in all activities Education Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required Licenses/Certifications None required Experience Minimum of five (5) years of progressive healthcare management experience Experience overseeing multiple hospital departments preferred
