TITLE: Associate Analyst - Special Projects We offer AWESOME BENEFITS + SIGN ON BONUS + RELOCATION LOCATION: Maine, Portland Work-Type: OFFICE SALARY RANGE: The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 Job Summary As a Data & Strategy Analyst – Special Projects, you will support Avangrid’s Planning Initiatives team in shaping the future of energy through data-driven insights and innovative projects. You will analyze complex datasets, contribute to strategic research, and assist in the execution of high-impact initiatives that advance grid modernization and climate resilience. This entry-level role is ideal for STEM graduates eager to apply technical and analytical skills in a dynamic environment, while gaining visibility to senior leadership and opportunities to influence strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities Data Analytics & Visualization Analyze datasets to identify trends and support strategic planning. Develop dashboards and visual reports using tools like Power BI or Tableau. Innovation & Technology Exploration Support pilot projects involving AI, automation, and emerging grid technologies. Research applications of new tools in the utility sector. Strategic Research Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and innovation strategies. Benchmark best practices across utilities. Program & Project Support Assist in planning and tracking strategic initiatives. Prepare documentation for funding applications and regulatory filings. Collaboration & Communication Work with cross-functional teams across planning, operations, and regulatory affairs. Prepare clear reports and presentations for leadership, translating technical findings into actionable insights. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Applied Mathematics) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Excel, Power BI/Tableau, and programming (Python, R, or SQL). Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Exposure to or willingness to learn budget management and financial reporting. Highly motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with machine learning concepts. Experience with data visualization tools. Knowledge of energy sector trends or emerging technologies.
