Associate Analyst (Targeted) First Nations Economic Wellbeing team Join a team supporting First Nations outcomes and economic empowerment at the centre of the NSW Government. Working at the centre of the NSW Government, you will also be well-placed to develop your professional network and a well-rounded understanding of career pathways in public policy. You will join NSW Treasury’s First Nations Economic Wellbeing branch within the Economic Strategy and Productivity group’s Centre for Economic Evidence division. We work to embed and recognise First Nations rights, interests, and perspectives in the evidence and frameworks that inform government decision making. The team supports the NSW public sector to better design and evaluate initiatives impacting First Nations people and support economic prosperity. Examples of work that the First Nations teams in NSW Treasury have undertaken include: developing and publishing regular First Nations expenditure reporting developing a First Nations Investment Framework, including advice on cost-benefit analysis and evaluation publishing a periodic ‘State of the NSW First Nations Business Sector’ report advising on measures impacting First Nations outcomes through the budget process advising on opportunities to improve economic development for the First Nations economy; and producing a First Nations Women’s Economic Participation Review. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria: Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in Economics, Finance, Public Policy or a related field. Demonstrable ability to undertake basic research and analysis of data. Understanding of First Nations peoples, communities and organisations. Ability to engage in a culturally safe way with Aboriginal communities and peak bodies.
