Description POSITION SUMMARY: The YMCA is one of the nation’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. With a 150-year-old history, Greater Somerset County YMCA (GSCY) is a pillar of the community and has seven locations across three counties, which collectively serve upwards of 30,000 individuals. Under the direction of the District VP of Operations, the Associate Branch Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations and programs of the Somerville & Bridgewater YMCA, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities and equipment, risk management, fiscal management, volunteers, staff development, social responsibility initiatives, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Serves as a member of the Leadership Team and supports the overall objectives of Greater Somerset County YMCA. Recruit, hire, train, develop and direct branch employees and volunteers. Review and evaluate staff performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Develops and controls all assigned department budgets related to the branch so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives. Provides accurate and timely reporting of financial data, grants, program revenue, etc. Use data to analyze financial trends and forecast future financial progress for the organization. Establishes and sustains positive relationships with program participants, their families, and prospective members in Princeton community. Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and service area mission, goals, and strategies. Support a year-round fundraising program, under the direction of DVP of Operations, which includes the annual current support campaign. Identify and cultivate major donors for all levels of fundraising including major gifts, sponsorships, and capital. Collaborate with staff and volunteers to meet Community Teams Division recruitment and financial goals. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery area. Models’ relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community. Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies. Ensures safety and coordinates the cleanliness and maintenance of branch facilities and properties in partnership with association leadership and branch facilities staff to assure high standards of maintenance, safety, and cleanliness. Coordinates all branch and service area communication efforts with Marketing to effectively maintain contact with service delivery items to the community. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent. Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency. Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development. Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit community leaders. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Ability to build and sustain trust and collaboration with staff, volunteers, volunteer boards, and community partnerships. Proven ability to influence stakeholders. Proven ability to collaborate and work toward Strategic Goals Proven history of developing authentic relationships with others. YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred. Experience in hiring and supervising staff, possess superior leadership and interpersonal skills, has the ability to interact with membership as well as good administrative skills. Flexibility in work schedule and expectations to work some early mornings and evenings. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification or obtain within 30 days of hire. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required as well as good administrative skills.
