ASSOCIATE CHARTERED BUILDING SURVEYOR

YMD Boon is a high-profile independent, multi-professional consultancy practice with over 50 years’ experience. We provide dedicated services from architectural design, building surveying, project management, maintenance and health and safety.
We are looking to expand our team with an Associate Building Surveyor.
In this role you will deliver the day-to-day building surveying services as well as be client facing and grow a team around you.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 8 years’ relevant experience.
  • BSc/MSc in Building Surveying or similar.
  • MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent chartered status
  • Proficient user of AutoCAD and standard Microsoft packages.
  • Line management experience.
  • Ability to strategically approach problem solving.
  • Ability to prioritise and coordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities
  • Offering building maintenance advice.
  • Undertaking building condition surveys.
  • Preparing specifications, schedules of work and drawings for capital improvement works.
  • Contract administration including drafting of standard contract forms.
  • Project management of annual capital programmes of work across multiple sites
  • Building strong relationships with clients.
  • Advise clients on schemes and projects to determine requirements and develop the brief.
  • Manage a team and provide motivation and support where necessary.
  • Delegate and monitor progress on projects ensuring timescales are met and the team are performing to the best of their ability.
  • Problem solve and find solutions when issues occur, for yourself and your team.
  • Seek to develop new business opportunities and develop existing relationships.
  • Manage and meet financial targets set by the Directors for your team.
