Description

Position Duties: The Associate Buyer supports the Purchasing department by assisting with procurement activities of spot buy items and sustaining stock supplies as required. The Associate Buyer also performs Cycle Counting to ensure inventory accuracy. This role combines administrative purchasing support with hands-on material handling responsibilities and plays a critical role in maintaining uninterrupted production flow, accurate inventory records, and organized material storage. Core duties include: * Assist the purchasing department with purchase order processing, updates, and ERP system maintenance where needed. * Maintain MRO Inventories by submitting POs as needed and stocking supply areas on the floor and office areas of Polywater. * Support supplier communication related to order status, lead times, delivery scheduling, and discrepancies. * Help manage open purchase orders as needed and notify the Buyer & Supply Chain Manager of delays or material shortages impacting production schedules. * Perform inventory cycle counts of raw and finished goods inventories. * Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred. * 1–3 years of experience in purchasing support or material handling preferred. * Basic understanding of purchasing principles, inventory control, and material flow. * Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) preferred * Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation. * Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently once trained. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Forklift experience * Dependable, safety-conscious team player with a can-do attitude. Physical Requirements: * Requires moderately strenuous physical activity at a sustained level over the course of a shift. * Require ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds on a regular basis using assistive devices for moving materials greater than 50 pounds. * Static Strength for lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying required. * Trunk Strength using the lower back and stomach required. * Multilimbed coordination using arms and/or legs together while sitting or standing required.
