In this role you will utilise your expertise in civil engineering design to deliver conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for a wide range of water related projects. The Opportunity We’re looking for an Associate or Senior Associate Civil Engineer to join our multidisciplinary water team in Adelaide. You’ll take the lead on project engineering and management, providing solutions and service to clients both on site and remotely. You’ll bring experience from a consulting or utility environment, ideally with a background in the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, pump stations and conveyance pipelines. Your responsibilities will include reviewing design requirements, conducting site investigations, performing calculations and modelling, overseeing drafting, and preparing reports and specifications. You’ll build strong client relationships and demonstrate a clear understanding of their core business needs. You’ll also contribute to a supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, continuous improvement and professional growth. With strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, you influence and drive successful outcomes for clients and the business. You’ve delivered projects in a consulting environment, working across multi-disciplinary and multi-office teams. You bring technical leadership, provide specialist advice, and manage teams to deliver practical, economical solutions. You’re a clear communicator who enjoys mentoring others, fostering strong team performance and building lasting relationships. Your Ideal Skills and Expertise Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline Extensive experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design Strong understanding of safety in design, constructability, operational practices, and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes Knowledge of risk management and ability to identify design-related risks Experience managing medium to large engineering design projects Commitment to working safely and within HSEQ systems Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Willingness to travel occasionally as required Ability to write successful bids for new and existing clients What We Offer: A career with Beca will provide you with: Flexibility & Wellbeing: We recognise that achieving a work-life balance is unique to everyone.
