The Clinical Supply Systems (CSS) team oversees clinical processes, information, and technology across the CTF, CS&D, and GIC to ensure timely delivery of drugs for clinical trials. We coordinate Investigational Product, Commercial Product, and Ancillary strategies to support effective, technology-enabled trial design and execution.
The Sr. Associate or Manager, Clinical Supply Systems, is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of Tech@Lilly milestones related to clinical supply systems and technology solutions within the Clinical Capabilities Organization, with a focus on CS&D, GIC, and quality support. This role supports planning and executing system strategies, integrations, and improvements, collaborating with business partners and Tech@Lilly to develop and maintain compliance, efficient systems for clinical supply operations. The position also involves working with external vendors and industry organizations to improve Lilly’s clinical supply capabilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, plus 1 years’ experience in drug development or clinical trial work (such as clinical operations, community-based research, quality assurance, supply operations, IT or clinical systems support)
  • Alternatively, a high school diploma plus 3 years’ experience in drug development or clinical trial work (e.g., clinical operations, community-based research, quality assurance, supply operations, IT or clinical systems support)

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND PREFERENCES:

  • Experience with digitization platforms (e.g., Tulip) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Experience with formal project management methodologies, agile frameworks (including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) and solid understanding of associated practices and tools.
  • Knowledge or experience in clinical supply management processes
  • Familiarity with CS&D, GIC, quality support operations, and clinical data interfaces
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Proven business acumen and critical thinking ability
  • Effective cross-functional communication and influence
  • Skilled in conflict resolution
  • Adaptability and openness to change
  • Understanding of regulatory and quality standards in clinical development
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of business strategies, processes, and technology as they pertain to the clinical supply chain, GIC operations, and associated systems.
  • Understands business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and assists with developing system designs and requirements to drive the organization’s targeted business outcomes. Understands emerging technology trends and disruptions and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business.
  • Serve as a business systems subject matter authority to ensure that data, processes, and coordinated technologies are efficiently aligned across all relevant platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence IT and business strategies to drive large-scale outcomes.
  • Provide support during internal audits and external inspections.
  • Lead and implement implementation strategies to advance technology initiatives and drive related process improvements.
  • Establish and supervise critical success factors for pilots and projects.
  • Identify, assess, and communicate global customer (internal and external) needs and requirements concerning process and technology performance and improvements.
  • Support organizational change management, communication planning, and training programs.
  • Identify risks related to project implementation and system execution, advancing issues as vital.
  • Lead all aspects of reporting activities and system metrics, providing updates to leadership, process owners, and end users.
  • Collaborate closely with process owners, leadership, quality teams, and Tech@Lilly to ensure efficient use of systems throughout the portfolio.
  • Actively supplies to and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
