Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Cloud Engineer to join our enterprise IT department in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. This role requires an understanding of cloud architecture, security, and best practices to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud-based systems. They will work in a fast-paced environment and must be adaptable to the many changing processes and technologies related to the various IT systems. Responsibilities: Deploy and manage GCP Infrastructure and Services Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Backup & DR, Load Balancers Kubernetes, CloudRun, CloudBuild Good understanding of Google infrastructure and networking Good understanding of GKE, design, operations and troubleshooting Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with GKE and GCE Collaborate on cloud security measures, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security Monitor and optimize cloud performance, cost, and scalability with DataDog Automate cloud operations using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues and incidents Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP features, services, and best practices Provide technical guidance and support to other IT team members Develop and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure and processes Qualifications 3+ years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform or equivalent 2+ years of experience working with GKE and GCE Knowledge of GKE and integration with development teams Knowledge of GCP services - Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, CloudRun Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell Ability to use GitOps principles for all code-based infrastructure Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins Understanding cloud security best practices, compliance requirements and IAC practices Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and collaboration skills Additional Technical Qualifications: Certification and hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tool DataDog Understanding of DevOps, DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines Knowledge of Google Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity planning in a cloud environment Ability to create and manage Containers Preferred Qualifications Google Cloud Professional, Google Cloud Engineer certification **This job requires work to be done outside of normal working hours including occasionally weeknights and weekends.
