Planning is one of the largest departments at Montagu Evans and one of the biggest Planning departments operating in the UK.
Our Commercial Planning Team advises many of the country’s leading developers, operators, financial institutions and landowners on data centres, industrial and logistics developments and asset management, roadside, retail and leisure development, asset management, and mixed-use developments.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work across a variety of projects within the commercial sector, with a particular focus in the data centre, industrial and logistics, and complementary commercial sectors. Our clients in these sectors include CyrusOne, CloudHQ, Greystoke Land, Siemens, Royal London, The Arch Company, London Metric Property, as well as financial institutions and asset managers including CBRE IM, Aberdeen, RailPen, USS and others.
We are a team led by 5 Partners and are looking for people who want to share our dedication to client service and our ambition to grow. Montagu Evans has a strong track record of supporting career development with many of our Partners having started their career journey as graduates.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Successful candidates will work in teams for several partners on a variety of commercial projects – large and small-with a particular focus on data centres, industrial and logistics and complementary uses.

Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Providing direct client advice and managing junior staff to prepare advice to clients;
• Working with Partners and project team to develop planning strategies, prepare programmes, lead & manage project teams;
• Drafting and reviewing reports, co-ordinating the preparation and submission of planning applications/ appeals/ representations;
• Identifying new business opportunities, assisting in firm-wide business development and preparing fee proposals;
• Developing individual client base
• Providing planning advice to clients and leading project & council meetings;
• Contributing in the development and training of staff, including mentoring junior staff;
• Responsible for maintaining continuing professional development for self;
• Any additional duties as reasonably requested.
