About The O’Neill The National Medal of the Arts and Two-Time Tony Award Winning Eugene O’Neill Theater Center is the country’s preeminent organization dedicated to the development of new works and new voices for the stage. Associate Company Manager Reports to: Company Manager Department: Company Management Compensation: $685/week housing, meals Dates: Mid-May-Early August Company Management at The O’Neill is broadly responsible for the logistical and administrative management of all the Artists, Staff and Guests who come to The O’Neill. This includes human resources administration, housing management, booking travel, and general hospitality. The Associate Company Manager is an integral part of the Company Management team. The Associate Company Manager will be responsible for many administrative and light manual labor tasks related to artist care and human resources. Successful candidates will be self starters, comfortable working with a variety of personality types and have a passion for providing excellent hospitality for our guest artists and staff. Duties include, but are not limited to: Help manage and supervise the Assistant Company Managers and Van Drivers Book travel and arrange housing for The National Theater Institute and National Critics Institute faculty Create a daily dispatch schedule for the Assistant Company Managers and Van Drivers Create a weekly schedule for the Assistant Company Managers and Van Drivers Help reconcile the company credit card and track travel reimbursements In charge of organizing and tracking the completion of all on boarding paperwork Driving artists to and from transportation hubs Share on-call hours with the rest of the Company Management team to coordinate after hours emergencies. Help with housing needs including equitizing residences and manage rental properties Respond to emergencies and assist with COVID-19 compliance Help with technical rehearsals and the cumulative performance of the Young Playwrights Festival The Associate Company Manager must have a valid driver’s license, keen attention to detail, proficiency with Google Suite, strong communication skills, and a positive customer service attitude. Company Management staff generally work six days per week and share on-call duties for after hours arrivals/emergencies. The Associate Company Manager can expect to work up to 12 hours in a single day for large arrival and turn over days. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an early career professional with a passion for hospitality and an interest in company or general management. Candidates must be organized, flexible and possess excellent communication skills. The Associate Company Manager will often have to problem solve at a moment’s notice and should be comfortable with the unexpected and changing expectations.
