Description

Corporate Banking is a client facing department, responsible for marketing, onboarding and ongoing management of the client relationship, providing loan business to the clients as well as promoting ancillary business according to the Bank’s business strategy and risk appetite. As an Associate - Corporate Banking, you will be responsible to support the Bank’s Corporate Banking business related to UK corporate clients according to the Bank’s business strategy as well as risk and compliance requirements. This is a 12 month fixed-term contract position.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Team Head, Senior Relationship Managers, Head Office and across the Bank’s domestic and international network to provide high quality products and services to the Bank’s clients
  • Contribute to the team’s business marketing activities, internal reporting and analysis
  • Support with cross-selling activities including loans, deposits, trade and supply chain finance, cash management, FX, bond issuance and RMB business
  • Initiate business proposals, credit analysis and financial modelling as required and follow up the whole business approval process of the Bank
  • Assist with CCMS requirements
  • Collaborate with in-house and/or external lawyers to complete facility documentation process to ensure the agreements are acceptable and protect the Bank’s interests
  • Support with compliance tasks. Participate on KYB and KYC requirements and any other legal and compliance requirements per internal and regulatory policies
  • Assist with post-lending management for the team’s client portfolio
  • Participate in general account maintenance duties with clients and collaborate with relevant departments and lending partners
  • Update and maintain accurate client/credit files

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree educated in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics
  • Qualification such as Chartered Finance Analyst is a plus
  • Relevant experience as a Junior Relationship Manager or in a similar client-facing role within the Financial Services or Banking sector
  • Able to build expertise in the industries/sectors that the team focuses on
  • Able to build expertise in the industries that the team focuses on
  • Able to navigate around and understand a loan agreement and related financial documents
  • Awareness of loan pricing methodology and allocation of economic capital is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in Mandarin is preferred
  • Excellent credit analysis skills. Financial modelling skills is a plus
  • Proven analytical skills, business judgment and acumen
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good customer service skills and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships at different levels
