About the Associate Corporate Counsel Position: We’re looking for an experienced attorney to join us as our Associate Counsel, reporting to our General Counsel. Our company has a hybrid work model and the work week will consist of days working in the office and days working from home. Preference is given to candidates who reside within commuting distance of Cedar Rapids or King of Prussia. Learn more about Hibu here: Hibu One Learn more about life at Hibu here: Life at Hibu Experience and Job Responsibilities: We are looking for an individual with four to six years’ experience in a law firm or in-house corporate legal department, including experience in one or more of the following areas: Contracts: Consulting with stakeholders across our Commercial, Technology, Product, Operations, Marketing, Human Resources and Finance departments and working with our Procurement team in the review, drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements Employment: Advising on employment matters arising in multiple jurisdictions relating to hiring, performance management, leaves of absence, accommodations, terminations, restrictive covenants, wage and hour, and privacy Litigation and Claims: Managing litigation and claims, including drafting of pleadings, drafting of discovery requests and responses, overseeing document production, and managing outside counsel Intellectual Property: Advising on intellectual property matters, including protecting the Company’s copyright and trademark rights; advising on licensing and use of third-party intellectual property; and responding to inquiries relating to copyright and trademark issues Privacy: Advising on data privacy and security matters, including as to the CCPA, the TCPA, CAN-SPAM, HIPAA and other Federal and state privacy laws; maintaining policies and procedures as to data privacy, security and governance; responding to privacy rights requests; and advising as to emerging laws and regulatory guidelines relating to GenAI Other Regulatory: Advising as to application of Federal and state laws relating to advertising, marketing, competition and unfair trade practices Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law school Member of the bar in your state of residence Excellent communication skills Excellent analytical and drafting skills Excellent time management skills Willingness to travel (approximately 10-15 days per year) Compensation and Benefits: Salary and bonus opportunity will be competitive for this position.
