We’re seeking a proactive legal professional to join our team and provide commercially focused legal advice and services to RACQ and its group of entities. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting operational and strategic goals—ensuring legal compliance, managing risk, and enabling sound decision-making across the business, with a particular focus on supporting financial services operations, such as insurance distribution and banking, and charitable community initiatives. You’ll bring a solid foundation of legal experience, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to advise stakeholders across a diverse organisation. Key responsibilities: Deliver expert legal advice across corporate, commercial, regulatory, and governance matters to support RACQ Group’s strategic and operational goals Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements, manage disputes and litigation, and liaise with external legal counsel as needed Support compliance and risk management by monitoring legislative developments, advising on legal obligations, and ensuring cost-effective legal practices Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify legal risks, provide training on key legal topics, and review marketing and membership materials Mentor junior legal staff and contribute to a positive, safety-conscious, and team-oriented workplace culture About you: Hold a university degree in law, with at least 3 years of relevant legal experience Solid understanding of, and experience in the application of, financial services regulation and Australian Consumer Law Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across teams Proven ability to draft and negotiate a wide range of legal contracts and agreements Australian Consumer Law and Privacy legislation, Excellent time management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment Confident using Microsoft Office and other business tools to support legal operations Why join RACQ?
