YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • A robust comprehension of the legal framework (appropriate to your level) and market practices relevant to corporate real estate transactions, ideally acquired through experience in private practice. Nevertheless, we welcome applications from those who, while they may not have direct experience, demonstrate relevant expertise, transferable skills, and a genuine commitment to their professional development.
  • Demonstrate confident negotiation skills, leading or supporting key negotiations
  • Take day to day responsibility for matter conduct, with partner support on hand as and when required. The candidate will have experience drafting share sale and purchase agreements and getting involved in various types of joint venture structures (including corporates, partnerships and offshore unit trusts)
  • Have the enthusiasm to build relationships with clients and drive to establish their own network of business contacts to support both their own and the team’s business development priorities, including contributing to the preparation and delivery of pitches to clients
  • Display a knowledge of key areas of the law by providing clear, precise, practical advice and having excellent attention to detail
  • Be self-aware, approachable and a team player, seeking out support when it is needed and helping identify when other team members need support and able to both deliver and act on constructive feedback
Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Our REIPF Team is hiring, and we are seeking applications from qualified Lawyers looking to advance their career in an award-winning Real Estate Investments Team. Ideally you will have 3+ years PQE, and this role will be based in our London office.
  • We welcome applications from Corporate transactional lawyers with experience advising on both Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and joint venture transactions. Corporate Real Estate experience is advantageous but not necessary, provided willing to focus on the Real Estate sector going forward.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE

  • Advising on corporate M&A transactions in the real estate sector.
  • Advising on all aspects of the structuring, establishment, operation, restructuring, and exit of joint ventures, and other real estate investment structures.
  • Working with a variety of clients including Private Equity Real Estate managers, institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, REITs, and developers/operators.
  • Be able to actively support complex transactions, liaising and coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as needed
  • Handling complex management mandates in the real estate sector.
