Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Cost Manager with proven experience gained within a construction consultancy setting to join our successful Cost and Project Management team in either Glasgow or Edinburgh.
As the successful applicant you will have proven experience across one or more of the following sectors: Education, Healthcare, Industrial and Logistics, Defence, and Commercial and Residential.
Our team has significantly grown in the last few years and is continuing to attract high performing individuals looking to progress their career and work on bespoke and interesting projects.

As an Associate Cost Manager joining our team, here’s what you’ll do:

  • Provide effective support, mentoring and line management to Project Surveyors, Graduates and Apprentices.
  • NEC 3/4 contract administration
  • Leading projects from a Cost Management perspective from inception to completion.
  • Production of cost estimates, cost plans, procurement and tendering advice, through to post-contract delivery of valuations, change control, reporting and final account.
  • Taking responsibility for the delivery of projects and managing support teams.
  • Ensures commissions are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Develops strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team.

READY TO PUSH THE LIMITS OF WHAT’S POSSIBLE?

Here’s what we’re looking for:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
  • Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.
  • Proven experience in a consulting environment providing the full spectrum of Cost Management services including Pre-Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.
  • Application of JCT and NEC standard forms of contract.
  • Manage the delivery of cost management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors
  • Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.
  • Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise digital measurement, cost planning and tender document tools shall be essential.
  • Ability to manage relationships effectively, identifying and resolving issues at the earliest possible opportunity.
  • CSCS Card Holder
  • Full UK or EU driving license.
