Overview:
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has a great opportunity for an Associate Data and Analytics Engineer to join our Data Science & Insights team on a fixed term contract. In this role you will be responsible for supporting organisation wide data and analytics. The role is hands-on, ensuring that data is consolidated, standardised and accessible in a manner that is useful to the business. You will play a key role in data management, data transformation and analytics delivery across the RSC, ensuring data is managed as an asset, creating a joined-up, shared view of customers, products and services.

We are looking for:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge in a STEM subject area.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail; with the ability to analyse, extract and interpret information.
  • Experience developing a joined-up, shared view of customers.
  • Demonstrable experience in data analysis, interpretation and visualisation.
  • Basic proficiency querying and manipulating data (e.g. SQL, Python, R).
  • Experience working with central data repositories, querying data and working with BI tools (e.g. Power BI).
  • Familiarity with version control systems for managing code (e.g. Git).
  • Experience in data standardisation and QA techniques.
  • Able to confidently work within a technical team, with business stakeholders, 3rd parties as well as independently, and to clearly communicate technical concepts to both a technical and a non-technical audience.
