DC Green Bank is looking for an experienced Associate who is responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of financing transactions from closing through servicing and portfolio monitoring. This role ensures accurate administration of the loan portfolio, maintenance of loan records, monitoring of borrower compliance requirements, and delivery of high-quality customer service to borrowers and stakeholders. The Associate works collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to support DC Green Bank's mission and investment objectives while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance. The Associate reports to the Commercial Portfolio Manager. Key Responsibilities Transaction Execution & Loan Administration Support loan closing and post-closing activities for financing transactions. Process loan payments, payoffs, advances, fee assessments, and other servicing transactions. Maintain accurate loan records, servicing files, and borrower documentation. Monitor payment activity, investigate servicing discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution. Prepare loan statements, account reconciliations, servicing reports, and other portfolio documentation. Assist with loan modifications, assumptions, restructuring activities, and other portfolio servicing needs. Portfolio Monitoring & Compliance Track insurance requirements, financial reporting submissions, covenant compliance, and other borrower obligations. Maintain reporting calendars, ticklers, and follow-up schedules to ensure timely borrower submissions. Assist with risk rating updates, portfolio reviews, and performance monitoring. Identify and escalate delinquent accounts, servicing issues, and compliance exceptions to management. Support portfolio performance analysis and prepare periodic status reports. Customer Service & Stakeholder Management Serve as a primary point of contact for borrower servicing inquiries and documentation requests. Respond to requests regarding balances, payment histories, account information, and reporting requirements. Coordinate with borrowers to obtain required documentation and compliance reporting. Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting & Documentation Prepare servicing reports, portfolio status updates, and management reporting. Ensure loan documentation and servicing records are complete, accurate, current, and properly maintained. Support internal audits, compliance reviews, regulatory examinations, and due diligence requests. Maintain organized servicing files and borrower records in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Operational & Cross-Functional Support Collaborate with underwriting, portfolio management, accounting, finance, legal, and operations teams to support organizational objectives. Contribute to the development, implementation, and enhancement of servicing procedures, internal controls, and process improvements. Ensure adherence to organizational policies, servicing standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Support special projects and other duties as assigned. Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Public Policy, Environmental Studies, Urban Planning, Business Administration, Real Estate, Engineering, or a related field. One to three years of professional experience in clean energy, affordable housing, finance, lending, consulting, sustainability, community development, program administration, or related fields. Experience supporting financial transactions, underwriting, loan servicing, portfolio management, project finance, or real estate development is preferred. Familiarity with PACE financing, affordable housing finance, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), green banks, impact investing, or public-private financing programs is desirable. Competencies Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business software tools. Ability to maintain accurate records and analyze servicing and portfolio data. Understanding of loan servicing processes, borrower compliance monitoring, and portfolio administration. Accountability: Owns deal outcomes from origination through closing. Communication: Clearly communicates complex deal structures and requirements. Analytical Thinking: Evaluates risks and opportunities using sound financial judgment. Negotiation: Effectively negotiates terms with counterparties while protecting organizational interests. Collaboration: Works seamlessly across internal teams and with external partners.
