Supported by a team of professionals skilled in design, sourcing, production, sales, marketing & distribution of premium quality children’s wear, Haddad distributes globally to 100+ countries and maintains sales and sourcing offices in 22 cities globally, including New York, Paris, Hilversum, Shanghai, Egypt, Bangkok, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, London and Montreal Overview: The Associate Designer will work closely with Designers to support and develop seasonal apparel lines and select and seek approval for all raw materials and colors. Key Accountabilities: Assist Designers in market research, trend presentations, and sourcing all raw materials Create CAD sketches of styles in development Ensure the accuracy of technical packs, which include detailed sketches, fabric and garment construction, and trim pages and placement Meet all deadlines in adherence to the seasonal design calendar Contribute to the creation and design of lines Set up seasonal presentation(s) Assist in maintaining link files, assortment boards, fabric and color library, design archives library, and inspiration boards Help communicate master catalog(s) updates to Design Coordinators Track the weekly sample schedule to ensure relevant deadlines and milestones are being met, appropriate files are shared, and help to communicate updates accordingly Email sales when new samples are received Help communicate packaging request to the Packaging Team Special projects as assigned Requirements Required Skills/Abilities/Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design with a strong knowledge of garment construction 2+ years of experience in the fashion industry as an Assistant or Associate Designer (children’s wear experience a plus) Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills with attention to detail Brand appropriate aesthetic Ability to sketch brand right designs Consistent in-office presence is vital to the role as it is for all Haddad Brands team members, so that we all have a full appreciation, aesthetically and tactilely, of the qualities that define our brand partners’ products and set them apart from their competitors.

Responsibilities

The Associate Designer will assist Designers in developing seasonal apparel lines and selecting raw materials. They will also create CAD sketches, ensure technical pack accuracy, and track sample schedules.
