Description

The Associate Designer will work closely with our leaders of the Design Team to contribute to the creation of innovative and visually appealing design solutions. This role offers an opportunity for a talented and creative individual to gain hands-on experience in the design field and collaborate and manage exciting projects. The Associate Designer will report directly to the Lead Designer, Design Manager and Principal Designer.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience
  • Portfolio of design work
  • Project management experience, preferred
  • Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Knowledge in Fohlio and Miro a plus
  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly
  • Possess strong verbal, written and visual communication skills
  • Ability to self-manage and demonstrate professional maturity
  • Ability to be productive working from home, a coffee shop, a jobsite, etc.
  • Ability to be flexible with work hours - some days starting early, some days starting late, and ability to work weekends, if needed

Responsibilities

Design

  • Drive the creation of design deliverables in PowerPoint and Miro
  • Collaborate with Junior Designer & Draftsman regarding technical measurements and shop drawings
  • Design in SketchUp with direction from Principal Designer and prepare concepts throughout the design phase of the project
  • Specify furniture, fixtures and materials maintaining detailed finish schedules and samples
  • Communicate and meet with builders and architects to verify design details, measurements, etc.
  • Collaborate with Procurement Team regarding pricing and ordering logistics
  • Research new materials and products in the industry to incorporate in new designs
  • Assist in presenting design in client meetings
  • Assist in the execution of project installations on-site and preparing styling along with Design Manager and Principal Designer

Project Management

  • Ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results from project prep to completion
  • Utilize Notion and record project updates (log hours & update project timelines) and following Blueprint
  • Manage projects from conception to implementation, while maintaining a strong rapport with all clients, builders, architects and vendors
  • Update design deliverables during change orders and collaborate with Junior Designer to ensure action items are being completed
  • Visit project sites throughout the duration of the project to verify design details, as needed

Administrative

  • Communicate with sub-contractors on-site to ensure design is being executed correctly
  • Meeting preparation
  • Maintain organized files and documentation for design projects, specifically Fohlio, Visual Spec Book and Measurements
  • Assist with install days and sourcing decor for installs
