EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related science field

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5+ years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience in engineering or related functional area. Considerations will be made for experience in other manufacturing sectors.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Process Automation/Control engineering.
  • Previous supervisory experience or demonstrated technical leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and cultures.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/PREFERENCES

  • Knowledge in data systems, historians, and reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of project management and vendor management
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience in Capital project delivery
  • Technical expertise in one or more automation platforms
  • cGMP Regulatory knowledge in process or automation engineering

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for recruiting, career development, coaching, performance management, and succession planning for automation engineers and technicians.
  • Defines resource needs for new initiatives and assigns personnel to ensure optimal project execution and organizational alignment.
  • Manages contract personnel to support daily operations and project delivery, while managing associated budgets to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensures all automation related activities and documentation are performed in alignment with current data integrity requirements.
  • Instills technical rigor, ensures thorough root cause investigations for deviations, driving for continuous improvement in operational excellence.
  • Reviews and approves deviations, change controls, and technical reports to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Serves as a strategic liaison between the corporate Engineering Tech Center (ETC) and the BRD organization to foster collaboration and alignment.
  • Acts as a key interface with Tech@Lilly organizations to support cross-functional initiatives and innovation.
  • Serves as the System Custodian for designated computer and automation systems, ensuring system integrity, compliance, and performance.
  • Ensures staff adherence to all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Quality System requirements.
  • Ensures staff training requirements are clearly articulated and staff are properly qualified to perform assigned duties.
