Responsibilities Our newest opportunity is for a Business Development Director to join our award-winning team based in Dublin, Ireland. This role is responsible for supporting projects and clients to improve their sustainability performance and achieve high green certification ratings. We envisage success in this role to include: Define and execute the commercial strategy that delivers sustained growth and market expansion. Lead the pursuit of new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple sectors. Collaborate on sustainability projects that enhance the company’s profile, pipeline, and profitability. Build strategic partnerships with developers, architects, engineers, and funding bodies to create new project opportunities and expand service offerings. Monitor the consultancy’s project flow and financial outcomes, turning strategic oversight into strong, market-leading performance. Mentor the existing high-performing team, creating a culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration. Developing and maintaining an updated knowledge base about the industry best-practice and applicable regulations and standards in sustainability. This includes sustainable design, construction, and operational guidelines; internal management tools to streamline project delivery; and the delivery of training programs. Lead the most strategic and high-value proposals, turning opportunities into tangible wins, working effectively with other Discipline Heads to win and deliver on business. Oversee and support the team’s successful project management and technical outputs, including reports and presentations, for strategic projects. Qualifications To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include a minimum of 10 - 15 years' professional experience partnered with a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or Energy), Architecture, Environmental Science, or Sustainability/Climate Studies. Strong experience in client acquisition and retention. Demonstrate proven ability to build and maintain a robust professional contact base, with confidence in networking and public speaking at large events. Postgraduate qualifications (e.g. MBA, MSc in Sustainability, or Project/Programme Management) would be a strong advantage.
