EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Communications, Marketing, Public Relations.

EXPERIENCE:

5 years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.
3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a post-secondary or non-profit environment.
Experience developing multi-channel communication strategies for diverse audiences.
Experience working in a unionized environment and knowledge of collective agreements.

SKILLS:

Advanced understanding of strategic communications, branding, and reputation management.
Knowledge of AODA compliance for digital and print communications.
Familiarity with digital marketing tools, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
Understanding of Canadian and international marketing, privacy laws, and data collection best practices.
Knowledge of co-op, career education, and work-integrated learning programs is an asset.Skills
Effective communication skills, with an ability to craft impactful messages.
Effective leadership and team management skills.
Ability to develop and execute strategic marketing and communications plans.

The Associate Director, Co-op and Career Education Communications is responsible for leading the development and execution of comprehensive, data-informed communication and marketing strategies that enhance the visibility, reputation, and engagement, of the university’s co-operative education and career centre programming. This role drives strategic messaging alignment with institutional priorities and effectively reaches key partners, including prospective and current students, employers, faculty, employees, and external parties. The Associate Director leads the communications team, supervises digital and print communication initiatives, and collaborates with academic and administrative units, employers, and industry partners to support the success of the university’s co-op and career education initiatives.
