Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate must be located near a Canadian Blood Services site preferrably in Ottawa and will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement may vary depending upon circumstances.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS:

  • MBA and/or CPA designation in good standing
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in long-range financial planning, corporate strategy, or a related field, preferably in a governmental or biological/pharmaceutical organization.
  • Experience or exposure to health-based economic analysis (e.g., CADTH, CDA, CIHI).
  • Demonstrated strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis across statement of operations, balance sheet, and cash flows.
  • Experience with presenting complex financial concepts to diverse audiences, including funders and board members.
  • Proficiency in financial planning software and advanced Excel modelling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent visual and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and engage with diverse cross-functional teams and drive collaborative processes.
    An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full-time Associate Director, Corporate Planning to join our dynamic Strategic Financial Management team. This role will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of Canadian Blood Services in supporting our mission as Canada’s Biological Lifeline.
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Financial Management, this position focuses on Canadian Blood Services’ 5-year long-range financial plan, ensuring the organization’s financial sustainability, and supporting strategic negotiation and decision-making. The role involves developing and maintaining financial models, working closely with the Strategy, Risk, Government Relations, and Enterprise Project Management Office teams, leading enterprise-wide long-range planning processes, and creating compelling presentations and data packages to engage the EMT, the board, funders, and other appropriate stakeholders.
