Description
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our specialist cross-border Debt Issuer Services team in Hong Kong. This is a unique opportunity to work at the centre of complex, high-value Debt Capital Markets (DCM) transactions across Asia and global markets. Working closely with investment banks, law firms and financial advisors, you will play a key role supporting liability management transactions, complex debt restructurings and operational consultancy across DCM deals. This role offers strong exposure to cross-border transactions, working alongside execution teams in Hong Kong, London and New York. This position is ideally suited to someone who combines strong client engagement capability with hands-on transaction execution and operational ownership. While relationship management and business development are important, we are specifically seeking someone who is equally strong in project delivery, operational execution and end-to-end transaction management. What you will be responsible for Client & Commercial Focus Support client coverage, new business origination and relationship development Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of opportunities Identify cross-sell and referral opportunities across regional and global teams Maintain strong relationships with issuers, banks, law firms and advisors Transaction Execution & Operational Delivery Act as a core deal team member across liability management and restructuring transactions Lead or support due diligence, structuring and documentation processes Act as a key client contact during live transactions Coordinate closely with operations teams to ensure seamless execution Manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously, delivering to tight deadlines Support engagement with Central Securities Depositories, custodians and institutional investors Review and negotiate standard DCM documentation Support billing processes and ensure strong financial and operational controls Cross-Border Collaboration Work closely with teams across APAC, US and global offices Support the execution of cross-border transactions and client delivery Leadership & Stakeholder Management Build strong working relationships across legal, risk, operations and commercial teams Support team collaboration and knowledge sharing across regions What we are looking for Strong experience within Debt Capital Markets, particularly liability management and/or restructuring transactions Solid understanding of DCM operational processes (tender offers, exchange offers, consent solicitations etc.) Proven track record working across Asia (Europe and/or US exposure advantageous) Strong balance of client engagement capability and transaction execution experience Demonstrated ability to take ownership of processes and operational delivery Strong commercial acumen and relationship management capability Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese Experience working with senior stakeholders including issuers, banks and law firms Advanced Excel skills (including data manipulation such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP) advantageous Bachelor’s degree (Finance or related discipline preferred) Willingness to travel and work flexibly to support live transactions If you are looking to step into a role that combines client engagement, technical DCM expertise and true transaction ownership, we would welcome your application.
