LOCATION: 1305 E 6th St., Pine Bluff, AR
SALARY: $47,000 - $52,000 a year, paid bi-weekly

POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Director oversees the daily operations of Depaul USA’s Opportunity House in Pine Bluff, AR, which includes direct management of the day resource center and supervisory oversight of the overnight shelter through its lead staff. This position ensures high-quality, client-centered services that meet immediate needs while promoting long-term stability and community integration. Working closely with the Overnight Shelter Program Manager and Arkansas Director, the Associate Director is responsible for program management, staff supervision, volunteer engagement, budget oversight, and community partnerships.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal Associate Director (AD) will be an experienced professional with several years of experience in social work with vulnerable segments of the population. The AD will ideally have experience working with individuals who faced homelessness and struggled with issues of mental illness, cognitive disabilities, and addictions. The ideal candidate will also understand the system of social work, relevant agencies, and the needs of individuals seeking services and possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a closely related field with at least two years of experience working with populations affected by behavioral health diagnoses and homelessness.
  • Exceptional communication, multi‐tasking, conflict management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly valued.
  • Strong computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to organize tasks, events, and people and delegate effectively. Ability to exercise independent judgment when appropriate and strong decisionmaking skills.
  • Ability to climb stairs and lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

ADDITIONAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the day center’s opening procedures, daily operations, and administrative duties. Assist participants with the necessary steps to gain employment.
  • In collaboration with colleagues, develop client support plans and record plans in case files.
  • Collaborate with other agencies in the community and participate in coalition meetings. Build good working relationships with other stakeholders, programs, services, and agencies in the community.
  • Conduct tours of the facility for visitors and volunteers, supervise volunteers, and answer the phone.
  • Manage weekly staff meetings to update day center and overnight shelter staff on client progress and areas for development. Coordinate work with other staff members, including the overnight shelter lead, and report back to the Arkansas Director.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to all quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Stays informed of current local and national events, trends, and issues (wherever possible) that impact Depaul USA’s work with the homeless.
  • Strives continuously to develop the role in collaboration with the supervisor to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken effectively and appropriately, meeting the strategic goals and objectives of Depaul USA.
  • Participates in internal/external meetings as required and attends training events, conferences, and other functions as necessary. Participates in regular supervision and annual appraisal and helps in identifying your jobrelated development and training needs.
  • Ensures adherence to all Depaul USA policies and procedures, particularly those relating to Health and Safety, Code of Practice, and Confidentiality.
