Job Description
AECOM’s Building Engineering practice is currently seeking an experienced Associate Director, Electrical to join our Rail team in Dubai. The Associate Director will provide technical leadership and ensure project alignment with client objectives and company standards, across AECOM’s portfolio.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. / BEng in Electrical Engineering
  • Institution accreditation required (CEng, MCIBSE, MIEE or equivalent)
  • Local Authority Engineer registration required
  • Minimum 18 years post-undergraduate experience, with experience in rail / metro projects
Responsibilities
  • Support project delivery via scheduled technical reviews (Lead Verification) and mentoring.
  • Review and approve designs, calculations, and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry codes and standards.
  • Perform advanced MEP analysis to address complex challenges and optimize design solutions.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet deliverables effectively.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design and construction issues.
  • Ensure designs adhere to safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks at all stages of the design process.
  • Promote the integration of innovative materials, technologies, and modular construction methodologies into designs.
  • Encourage the adoption of sustainable practices to reduce the environmental impact.
  • Mentor engineers and provide training to enhance team expertise in design Building Services Design
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients to ensure their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in business development activities, including preparing technical proposals and presentations.
  • Identify potential risks in designs and propose mitigation strategies to ensure structural integrity.
  • Stay updated on relevant codes, regulations, and industry best practices, incorporating them into all project phases.”
  • Implement digital delivery frameworks, system optimization, advanced simulations strategies, and multidisciplinary coordination through adoption of Revit tools/Revizto in ACC and BIM 360 environment.
  • Drive technical innovation by adopting computational and AI assisted workflows, Automated design validation.
  • Oversee and optimize performance by driving digital upskilling initiatives, enhanced quality reviews and technical team capabilities.
