Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School is seeking an experienced and passionate Program Director to design and lead initiatives focused on applying innovative genomics approaches and data sharing. The Program Director will play a key role in program design, leadership, research, and stakeholder engagement in partnership with Directors, Principal Investigators, and Project Managers. Together we will work towards advancing healthcare and scientific understanding for those with rare and undiagnosed conditions. Key Responsibilities: Design and execute program management strategies to ensure the efficient operation and growth of genomics and data sharing, curation, and analysis initiatives. Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement program plans, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with goals. Develop and manage complex operational protocols to support expansion and long-term sustainability of programs. Conduct research on cutting-edge genomics and data sharing approaches and provide recommendations for strategic pathways to explore. Monitor, evaluate, and recommend improvements based on program outcomes and data analysis. Lead and mentor team members, fostering collaboration and providing clear guidance. Oversee the establishment and management of expansive multi-site agreements, strategically fortifying essential partnerships and fostering the success of scientific collaborations. Provide guidance and collaborate on hiring and budgetary decisions to ensure efficient allocation of resources. Craft communication and outreach strategies to engage stakeholders and promote the transformative impact of programs. Provide representation at industry events and conferences, fostering collaborations and showcasing achievements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., genetics, genomics, public health, or a related discipline) preferred
  • Knowledge of genomics, rare diseases, and diagnostic technologies.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in data analysis.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and conferences.
