Description:

The Associate Director, Infrastructure Assurance provides assurance to the project teams on the built infrastructure program and project investments through the application and administration of the Infrastructure Investor Assurance Framework (IIAF). This includes project and program monitoring and reporting to improve the NSW Government’s investment outcomes and confidence in project delivery. Some of the key Accountabilities include:

  • Manage the timely and accurate preparation of a range of regular and ad-hoc reports, identifying performance issues and risks, including senior executive infrastructure committees and Cabinet.
  • Support and coordinate, assurance review activities including, forward review program of Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 projects, reviewer management and evaluation, closing out review of recommendations, and trends reporting.
  • Contribute and lead the collaborative development of strategies, programs, policies, and procedures to determine and achieve enhanced project outcomes, including working with a range of agencies to maximise outcomes during implementation.
  • Manage special projects and undertake the preparation of draft evaluation reports on business cases to strict quality and timelines.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders facilitating data quality, smooth running of assurance activities, the provision of expert advice and sharing of relevant information.
  • Participate and represent INSW on working groups providing expert advice to support assurance priorities, improve project management capability and influence project decision making.
  • Support the development of assurance program improvement strategies and update procedures to keep the assurance processes contemporary.
  • Provide ongoing leadership to team members including work allocation, capability development and performance management to deliver on programs of work and team priorities

Responsibilities:

TEMPORARY (9 MONTH) ROLE – SYDNEY

This role is a salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $145,378 - $168,130 base plus superannuation, commensurate with experience.
This is a temporary position (parental leave cover) for approximately 9 months, commencing in February 2025 until October 2025 with possibility of extension.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant experience in built infrastructure planning, development, procurement, or delivery.
  • Experience and strong interest in infrastructure planning, development, procurement, or delivery.
  • Experience in Microsoft suite of products, in particular advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and pro-active problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop solutions.
  • Excellent report writing, visual presentation design abilities and verbal communication skills
