Job Description
AECOM Middle East is currently seeking an Associate Director for their Landscape studio, based in Dubai. The Associate Director translates strategic direction and leads a medium-sized business unit, function, or geographic operation, including operational, financial, and people results and is accountable for various management, leadership, and people management responsibilities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for project delivery, across the assigned portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Working towards professional membership in Urban Design or Architecture
  • 15+ years experience in Landscape Architecture, with the last 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong design skill
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides effective communication of technical and business issues and communicates to all reporting staff and the broader teams.
  • Accountable for the results of the discipline department and adherence to approved project budgets.
  • Supports business change management initiatives, recruits, trains, mentors, evaluates the department’s staff, and assists the various disciplines in identifying and developing skills.
  • Accountable for the project’s budget for a specific discipline.
  • Peer review the team’s work; sometimes, take the lead on project design, project presentation, and client communication.
  • Report on performance and compliance of staff and projects to management and provide mitigation plans where necessary.
  • Attend creative landscape architecture project reviews and design sessions, steer project directions, deliver thought leadership presentations, and inspire peers and reports.
  • Attend to project deliverables quality reviews when necessary—report on any non-compliant project deliverables teams.
  • Facilitate staff development of market-required skills through continuous reviews of new market trends.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership to manage ongoing financial performance and projected financial plans.
  • Manage bids and proposals, establish winning themes, and define differentiators.
  • Understand pricing and qualification aspects and establish price-winning strategies.
  • Review bids compliance with external requirements and internal governance.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that can assist in expanding work assignments, scope, and accounts, including managing client relationships and expectations.
  • Attend key client meetings and presentations and manage the stakeholders to the best interest of both the client and the company.
  • Lead proposals as a capture lead and help build the pipeline of work to meet targets.
