Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is one of the largest Catholic Charities Agencies providing care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience as Program Assistant or Associate Director preferred. B.A. degree preferred in Special Education or related field or 1 year of supervisory experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Must have a driver’s license, which is valid in the State of New Jersey and Driving record in good standing. Knowledge of computer programs required.

FLEXIBILITY REQUIRED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE PROGRAM; SCHEDULE SUBJECT TO CHANGE; ON-CALL REQUIREMENTS. MUST ATTEND STAFF MEETINGS.

Responsibilities
  • The primary responsibility of the Associate Director is to work cooperatively with the Program Director to provide quality services to the people living in the home, and to uphold the agency philosophy in carrying out the day-to-day tasks.
  • The job includes working direct care and demonstrating excellence in all areas of the residential counselor position, as well as interviewing, hiring and supervising staff in order to maintain the highest possible quality of life for the residents.
  • It includes many administrative tasks, such as scheduling staff, financial management, home management, monitoring health issues and clothing needs, ensuring that the home is meeting agency and governmental standards of operation.
  • The job requires a significant amount of written documentation and use of the computer.
  • The employee will cooperate with the agency’s administration and/or Division and DHS staff in any inspection or investigation.
    Pay: $24.65/Hr
