The role provides expert guidance, manages technology risks and opportunities, and ensures alignment with government contractual obligations.   Leading a team of specialists, the role drives assurance, contract management, governance, and stakeholder engagement with transport operators. It oversees OCMS agreements, supports upgrade and renewal projects, maintains strong operator relationships, and ensures delivery of effective technology outcomes for the Victorian Government.  What we’re looking for (Selection Criteria)  You’re someone who:  Leads and supports teams by setting clear expectations, promoting VPS values, resolving issues, and creating an environment that encourages engagement, accountability, and recognition of performance. Applies strong commercial acumen to maximise value and ensure contractual compliance through rigorous review of works plans, service levels, and contractual artefacts. Builds trusted stakeholder relationships by understanding needs, navigating complex environments, and developing partnerships that deliver mutually beneficial outcomes. Demonstrates understanding of OCMS systems and integrates technical requirements into contract oversight and asset management processes. Applies technical literacy to assess OCMS plans and ensure alignment with asset management and maintenance strategies. Works collaboratively with operators to achieve shared outcomes and resolve issues through constructive engagement and alignment. Leads coordination across governance forums, facilitating alignment between internal teams and operators to achieve compliance outcomes and shared goals. Engages operators to verify delivery against commitments and address underlying issues impacting compliance. Click here to access the Position Description.   Qualifications and experience  You’ll bring:  Successfully managed complex project budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and influences organisational financial practises through evidence-based insights. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience in the delivery of complex multi technology projects in Rail or other high risk operational environments (Mandatory) Delivered multi-asset programs that meet safety, service, and cost goals. Ensures integration of lifecycle activities with organisational priorities. (Mandatory) A minimum of five years of experience in IT or operational technology (Mandatory) Experience in the Rail or other transport industry (Mandatory) Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant Engineering, IT, or Project Management field or equivalent (Desirable) Pre-employment checks and employment conditions  Relevant pre-employment screening and reference checks will be required.
