  • Master’s degree or higher preferred from an accredited college or university;
  • Five (5) years of successful teaching and coaching experience;
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate;
  • Possess the leadership ability necessary to supervise the employees under his/her direction; and

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Direct and manage assigned areas of the district’s athletic programs and facilities.
  • Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) and technology to gauge athletic and academic program effectiveness and ensure that program renewal is continuous and responsive to student needs.
  • Provide instructional leadership in the assessment of needs and the coordination of professional development for the athletic department staff.
  • Assist in the coordination and development of all secondary athletic schedules.
  • Manage assigned athletic operations by directing and overseeing ticket sales and ensuring the preparation of facilities.
  • Attend district athletic contests in a supervisory capacity.
  • Monitor the process of cleaning and sanitizing, repairing, and storing all athletic equipment following CFISD policies, regulations, and expectations.
  • Implement the regulations and policies established by federal and state law, Texas State Board of Education rules and regulations, UIL rules, and district board policy in the area of athletics.
  • Compile, maintain, file, and present all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents including win/loss records, student awards, and scholarships.
  • Compile data and make budget recommendations, administer the athletic department budget for assigned areas and ensure that programs are cost-effective and that funds are managed prudently.
  • Maintain a current inventory of supplies and equipment and recommend disposal and replacement of equipment when necessary.
  • Assist the athletic director in recruiting, selecting, training, and supervising athletic department personnel and make sound recommendations about personnel placement, assignments, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
  • Articulate the district’s mission and goals in the area of athletics to the community and solicit its support in realizing the mission.
  • Provide quality customer service to employees, departments, and guests of the athletics and aquatics departments for the benefit of our student-athletes.
  • Provide input on office and program policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
