ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF CARE
Reporting into the Director of Care, the Associate Director of Care, will help support the day-to-day operations of the Wellness Department and all Clinical operations of the Retirement home. The primary focus of this role is to support the managing the Care plans, Assessments and ongoing care of the residents, and the day-to-day tasking and work assignments for the clinical team in support of the Residents. Ensuring that the Wellness team is delivering on Castle Peak’s promise of service and maintaining the standards of the operations is an essential part of this role. The position is ‘people focused’, with a substantial component of the job involving maintaining strong resident/family and team member/volunteer relations. The role also includes the managing of the Residential licencing requirements, governing body policies and all public health requirements.

You will be a welcomed member of the Castle Peak Leadership team and impact in the following ways:
· Ensure all residents on Independent Living and Supportive Living needs are assessed; develop service plans of care and determine corresponding care fees and team member requirements as applicable.
· New prospect assessments, 6-month re-assessments, Change in condition assessments.
· Monitor all resident incidents and direct team members regarding interventions to prevent reoccurrence as applicable and the updating of medical records and care plans accordingly.
· Joint Health and Safety
· Assist and support in the managing of the OHAH relationships.
· Scheduling, line assignments, tasking of team members (PSW/UCP/RPN)
· Payroll and admin responsibilities
· Monitor the quality indicators and evaluates nursing and related services to ensure quality of resident care. (Falls, Behaviours, Infection Control etc.)
· Develop and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with hospital team members and our home and community care partners.
· Participate in marketing outreach such as presentations on wellness services and aging in place philosophy, and interview prospective residents conducting assessments to determine suitability for admission.
· Work alongside the Director of Care and support the day to day of the Wellness operations within the Residence.
· Indirectly support and work in tandem with the Wellness Operations Supervisor.
· Training of new staff
· Support the Emergency response planning and management within the residence. Including: Emergency Code training, nursing support for fire emergencies and medical emergencies.

· A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with RNAO and has a minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry.

Must haves:
· Completion of Nursing program and currently registered with the CNO
· Minimum of Five (3) years of Management experience in a related environment
· Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance
· Strong leadership capabilities and excellent written/oral communication skills
