POSITION SUMMARY

Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Residence, a culturally enriched seniors’ residence regulated by the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA), is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Director of Care (ADOC). Reporting to the Director of Care, the ADOC supports the oversight and delivery of nursing services across the residence, including clinical supervision of the newly established Memory Care Unit.
The ADOC plays a key leadership role in ensuring safe, person-centered care for all residents by supporting staff, promoting clinical excellence, and ensuring compliance with legislative, organizational, and professional standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a retirement, seniors’ care, or healthcare setting, with experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge in areas such as dementia care, infection control, wound care, falls prevention, and behavioral support.
  • Familiarity with the Retirement Homes Act, RHRA standards, and relevant provincial legislation and best practices in seniors’ care.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; able to mentor and guide front-line staff effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with electronic health documentation systems.
  • Bilingualism in English and Ukrainian is considered an asset.
