JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Director of Human Resources will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department under the direction of the Executive Director. This includes leading out hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay and benefits processes, scheduling and leave requests, and ensuring the HR department is compliant with organizational strategic objectives and values while enforcing company policies and practices through internal processes, including Labor Relations processes.
The Associate Director of Human Resources position is important to business success. People are TDCSS’s most important asset and the Associate Director of Human Resources will be the one to ensure TDCSS has an engaged and productive workplace where everyone works to realize TDCSS’s established mission and objectives. Promoting corporate values and shaping a positive culture is a vital aspect of a Associate Director of Human Resources job.

EDUCATION

Bachelors in Human Resources or related field.

REQUIRED:

Five (5) years of recent related experience, including one year of supervisory or administrative experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of HR strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Oversee recruitment processes, including interviewing candidates and onboarding new employees.
  • Design and implement training development programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Utilize HR software systems for efficient HR management.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency within the HR department.
  • Collect and analyze data related to employee performance, engagement, and retention to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations while maintaining best practices in human resources management.
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Present HR-related information and reports to senior management as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
