JOB DESCRIPTION- FULL TIME
The Assistant Director of ORU Missions and Outreach supports the Senior Director in leading and expanding the university’s local and global outreach efforts. This role includes training and equipping student staff and student leaders, coordinating mission sites and trip logistics, and partnering with local organizations for community outreach. The position also involves creating culture and vision, managing budgets and fundraised monies, and discipling students. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a heart for ministry, organizational excellence, and a passion for empowering students to serve and lead.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required (Theology, Communications, Business Administration, International Development, or related discipline is preferred). ORU graduate and ORU Missions alumni strongly preferred.
- 2-4 years of professional experience in a non-profit, church, or missional marketplace organization is strongly preferred.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Demonstrate a Christ-like character marked by high personal integrity, spiritual maturity, and a genuine passion for global evangelism and the advancement of the Gospel.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a missional context, higher education setting, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with platforms such as Canva, Squarespace, Managed Missions, Touch Net, and Mailchimp is highly desirable.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to teach, train, and present effectively in one-on-one, group, and large-audience settings.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage cross-culturally and build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrate solid foundational skills in reading comprehension, mathematics, oral and written communication, and grammar.
- Self-motivated and proactive, while also demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Display emotional resilience, perseverance, critical thinking abilities, and a high level of personal and professional maturity.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic office environment.
- Capable of managing the unique challenges and pressures that come with mentoring and supporting students in international and cross-cultural contexts.
- Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and diplomacy, especially when addressing sensitive issues or complex situations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professional integrity while fostering positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, administration, and external partners.
- Fully committed to the mission, vision, and values of Oral Roberts University as a Christ-centered academic institution.
- Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policy and its’ procedures.
