PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Chartered Member of the RTPI
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within the onshore wind sector
  • Excellent knowledge of the Scottish planning system
  • Proven success in managing planning applications in onshore or offshore wind
  • Strong commercial awareness and business development skills
  • Full, clean UK driving licence

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF TOWN PLANNING ROLE

Reporting to the Directors, you will:

  • Drive business development and grow the Scottish branch, securing new project opportunities
  • Demonstrate leadership with a commercial focus, helping to steer the business through its next phase of growth
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead stakeholder engagement activities
  • Lead planning services for strategic infrastructure and renewable energy projects, including programme and budget management
  • Manage client enquiries, prepare bids, and maintain strong client relationships
  • Mentor and support junior and senior planners, contributing to the development of a high-performing team
  • Stay informed on planning and energy policy developments in Scotland and the wider UK
