We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Associate Director to join our existing Investment team as we deploy our second committed fund. This position will play a key role across the full investment lifecycle. This includes originations, due diligence, execution, and post-close portfolio management, with a focus on credit underwriting. The ideal candidate will be able to lead underwriting on a range of credit opportunities, make a positive impact on the investment process and support a growing portfolio of firms. Location: Washington, DC Office (Hybrid schedule; candidates must be based in the DC metropolitan area or willing to relocate, as regular in-office presence is required) Firm Type: Lower Middle-Market Private Credit Salary: Estimated base salary range: $175,000 to $200,000 plus discretionary bonus Industry Focus (can include any, or combination of): Industrial, Consumer, Food & Beverage Production, Transport & Logistics, Healthcare, Building Services (e.g. HVAC, Janitorial, Electrical, etc), Supermarkets, Manufacturing Key Responsibilities: Lead underwriting for new potential investment opportunities as they are identified Drive modeling and diligence for opportunities that progress through the deal funnel across a number of industries Produce and present screening and investment memorandum for internal and investment committee meetings Support deal execution, including diligence, structuring, documentation and closing Serve as a point of contact for commercial banking partners and portfolio finance teams Manage post-close portfolio monitoring and performance tracking. Work closely with senior leadership in a flat, entrepreneurial environment to shape investment strategy and team development. 5+ years of experience in commercial bank lending, direct lending, business banking, transaction advisory, private credit, private equity, investment banking or related field. Demonstrated success underwriting lower middle market credit opportunities Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; persuasive, confident, and articulate in Strong commercial judgment and ability to quickly evaluate complex business and financial matters. Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on, team-oriented approach.
