About the Division Regulatory & Financial Risk (RFR) is an established advisor within the financial services industry. Our vision is to be the leading provider of advisory services to financial services providers and corporate treasury operations across Africa. Our client offerings span: Credit, market, and corporate treasury risks; Valuations of financial instruments; Hedge accounting; and financial technology. We provide these services in the capacities of advisory, assurance, managed solutions, and resource augmentation. We also help clients address regulatory challenges relating to IFRS 9, 13, 17 and Basel, amongst others. Our team comprises of accountants, actuaries, statisticians, and quantitative analysts with a technical appreciation for both financial modelling and coding. Job Description Main Purpose of Job To support the RFR Credit Risk Team in delivery of services to / at client premises on delegated engagements and projects. To contribute to the growth of the RFR practice by leading complex projects while trailblazing the market and forging strong C-suite business relationships with key clients. Roles & Responsibilities Strategic relationship development with key clients Bold play eminence creation Market leadership Industry capability development Team leadership Review of client deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness Oversee development and calibration and validation of credit risk models as well as model validation, monitoring and testing Benchmarking credit metrics amongst peers in a market Derivation of portfolio credit analytics Communication of project challenges and outcomes with clients and team members Validation and approval of project reports Team leadership including sharing knowledge and skills with the team. Qualifications Qualifications and Experience Minimum Qualifications: Completed BSC Degree (Mathematics/Statistics/Quantitative/Financial Engineering or Actuarial Science. Desired Qualifications CFA /FRM/MBA qualification would be advantageous Required Experience 10+ years of experience in credit gained within a Bank, Consulting firm or similar environment with at least 5 years in a senior management role leading teams Demonstrated experience in business alignment, strategic thinking and leadership 5+ years business development experience and a track record working at a senior level Financial Modelling experience– technical knowledge in PD, EAD, LGD, Basel II and IAS39 Experience in building and developing IFRS 9 Models Financial services and market regulations knowledge and application: regulation 23, IAS39, IFRS 9 (intermediate level) Retail credit risk experience Programming and coding skills: SAS, VBA, SQL, R and Python.
