SLR has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Highways Engineer with a track record in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects, work winning and business development to join its busy Transport Engineering Team in Manchester. The successful applicant will lead on managing project execution for a wide range of projects, as well as helping grow the team through a combination of business development from new and existing clients. The successful applicant will be supported by the Technical Discipline Manager as well as a well-established team of Engineers to ensure successful outputs are achieved.

Our Transport Engineering team has expertise across a range of engineering sectors including highways, drainage, civil and structural. The team provides clients with expertise at all project stages, including:
Planning;
Feasibility;
Outline and detailed designs for major highways and infrastructure projects;
Overall Project and Programme Management;
Development and Preparation of Technical Specifications;
Preparation of Tender Packages and Tender Evaluation; and
Commercial support throughout the lifecycle of a project.

You will work independently and within a team to develop new and existing business, and deliver projects. You will act as a project manager to manage the delivery of complex infrastructure projects, manage proposal development, undertake Business Development initiatives and manage clients. You will provide workload to others in the team and other disciplines and will be expected to mentor and coach other engineers within the team and support the sector and client leads across the business.
As a senior member of the team, you will have input into the strategic direction, planning and development of the team, creating new opportunities and prospects, enhancing and broadening team capacity and capability, recruiting new staff, identifying target markets and developing future strategies.
You will work across other sectors with SLR staff in disciplines including the Advisory, Environmental Management and Compliance, Land and Water and Environmental Specialist Services Groups.
