We are hiring an Associate Editor, Daily Briefings, to join our team located in Miami, Florida As the Associate Editor, Daily Briefings, you will: Own the daily news briefs — aggregating and curating the most important political and policy stories each morning across New York, Missouri, Oklahoma and West Virginia Use AI tools to assist in headline discovery, summarization and workflow efficiency — while applying strong editorial judgment to ensure accuracy and quality Write clear, compelling headlines and summaries that help readers quickly understand what matters and why Produce and package the daily morning newsletter, ensuring it is timely, accurate and engaging Monitor breaking news and emerging trends across the four states Essential qualifications for this position include: Ability to write with clarity, confidence and attention to detail Ability to work with and learn how to utilize AI-assisted editorial tools Ability to be organized and capable to track multiple states and storylines at once Ability to collaborate and be open to feedback Understanding of journalism, journalism ethics and the importance of nonpartisanship This is an in-office work opportunity that operates most days out of the State Affairs office in Miami, Florida (Wnywood Area). State Affairs offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package to employees. The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $48,000 to $52,000 for candidates working from Miami, Florida. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.
