JOB DESCRIPTION:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Environmental Scientist to join our team! In this role you will get to put your skills to work on complex environmental projects to make the world a cleaner place !

WHAT REQUIRED SKILLS YOU’LL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science curriculum related to the assigned discipline and typically 0+ years of related work experience.
  • Familiarity with software packages typically associated with the discipline is preferred.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, bend, kneel, and climb.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • OSHA 40 HAZWOPER certification preferred

WHAT DESIRED SKILLS YOU’LL BRING:

  • Capability to understand, interpret, and adhere to environmental rules and regulations as they apply to field work.
  • Willingness to follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory requirements while performing various environmental field sampling and inspection tasks.
  • Effectively communicate field observations and daily activities to Project Management.

Responsibilities
  • Performs various field sampling and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories.
  • Completion of field documentation such as activity hazard analysis (AHA) forms, project field reports, field notes, and chain-of-custody forms.
  • Supervision of drillers and other subcontractors.
  • Reviews and analyzes data collected in environmental sampling programs.
  • Researches and compiles background data in support of an environmental project.
  • Work with Project Managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
