Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking a motivated Associate Equipment Install Strength Engineer to support the Air Dominance Platform Systems organization located in Berkeley, MO.
Boeing Air Dominance products support the vital missions of defense forces around the world and provide protection and relief in a constantly changing geopolitical environment. With more than 70 years of leadership in fixed wing technology.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 2+ years of working experience with a Bachelor’s OR a Masters degree
  • 0-2+ years related work experience in stress analysis.
  • Experience with Engineering classification such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in software development, programing, and coding for structural analysis tools.

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis using well defined analysis tools and methods to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Participate in various test activities to substantiate for customers that requirements are satisfied
  • Work in a collaborative team environment with the opportunity for frequent interaction with team members and mentors
  • Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
