Associate Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer

Reading | £60,000 - £70,000

A rare opportunity to join a growing flood risk and drainage consultancy at Associate level.

We're working with a specialist consultancy who are looking to bring an experienced Associate Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer into their Reading team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is ready to take the next step in their career, with the chance to manage projects, work closely with clients and play a key role in the continued growth of the team.

The role

You'll be involved in a mixture of technical delivery, project management and client liaison, with plenty of scope to take ownership of your work.

Your work will include:

  • Preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
  • Undertaking surface water, fluvial and groundwater flood risk assessments
  • Designing sustainable drainage systems (SuDS)
  • Carrying out drainage calculations and hydraulic modelling
  • Reviewing drainage designs and providing technical advice
  • Supporting planning applications and liaising with Local Authorities
  • Managing projects from initial brief through to completion
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
