About this role As an Associate or Senior Associate in our Brisbane Forensic Accounting practice, you will have the opportunity to develop your career on your own terms as part of a high-performing, motivated team. You will apply your experience and expertise across a broad range of forensic engagements, including contentious valuations, commercial loss and damage claims, insurance events, accounting reviews and investigations. Our Brisbane team primarily undertakes Dispute Advisory assignments. Some of the exciting projects this team has recently worked on include: Assessment of loss and damage suffered for a Group of claimants as part of class action proceedings Valuation of a minority interest in a large Queensland-based manufacturer as part of Shareholder Oppression proceedings Assessment of economic loss in large insurance litigation claims Complex valuations for family law and estate disputes Dispute arising under a purchase and sale agreement for the sale of a chain of retail stores Review of transactions across several financial years to identify misreporting of transactions and alleged fraud Key responsibilities Advise on a broad range of forensic engagements, including business valuations, commercial loss and damage claims, insurance events and accounting reviews and investigations Build and maintain beneficial stakeholder relationships, including client liaison and the provision of trusted expert advice Detailed review and analysis of the financial performance of businesses Research and analysis of a variety of business, industry and economic data and information Participate in business development and practice management activities, as well as provide coaching, mentoring and training opportunities to other team members Skills and experience CA / CPA / CFA qualification Significant forensic accounting experience, ideally gained within a public practice environment Experience with preparing valuation reports and / or commercial loss and damage reports for disputes Strong analytical skills and mindset, complemented by lateral and critical thinking capability Conscientious with a strong degree of accuracy and keen eye for detail Excellent written and spoken communication skills If you’re interested in this role but don’t feel that you match every single one of our requirements, we would still love to hear from you and explore the unique skillset and attributes that you can bring to the team.
